Overview

In support of newcomer integration, provincial settlement programming is undergoing a process of renewal. The 2017-2018 fiscal year is one of transition. The Supports for Newcomer Integration 2017-2018 Call for Proposals (CFP) focusses on short-term projects that address the most critical immediate needs.
This funding program supports the settlement and integration of newcomers and their families in Alberta by funding community-based projects in two Streams:

  1. Workplace Integration: proposals in this Stream may seek to:
    • support newcomers to overcome barriers to workplace integration, and/or
    • build the capacity of employers to create welcoming and inclusive workplaces
  2. Community Integration ($150,000 cap): proposals in this Stream may seek to:
    • support immigrants in overcoming barriers to community integration, and/ or
    • build the capacity of communities (including agencies, organizations, community groups and mainstream service providers) to create welcoming and inclusive communities
