Biography - Mia Norrie

Mia Norrie is an arbitrator and mediator with 25+ years of human resources and labour relations experience. Throughout her career Mia has had the opportunity to work not only with both the private and public sectors, but has had the unique experience of working in senior leadership roles for both management and unions.

She is currently on the Arbitration Roster for Alberta Mediation Services. In 2013 Mia was appointed to the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Services roster as a grievance arbitrator, adjudicator and referee.

Mia holds the designation of Qualified Arbitrator (Q Arb) with the ADR Institute of Canada.

Since 2013, Mia has been on the Mediation Roster for Alberta Mediation Services. She is engaged by organzations regularly to assist in training, investigations, organizational reviews and workplace conflict resolution.

Mia was a sessional instructor for the University of Lethbridge and the ADR Institute of Alberta (when it was the Alberta Arbitration and Mediation Society – AAMS).

Mia holds a Bachelor of Arts and an L.L.B from the University of Alberta, and has completed mediation and negotiation training through the ADR Institute of Alberta and Harvard Program on Negotiation.
