Land Agent Advisory Committee

Makes recommendations to the Minister or Registrar about the qualifications of applicants for licences, standards of conduct for land agents, and any other requested matters.

Duties

The Land Agent Advisory Committee has been established under section 23 of the Land Agents Licensing Act. The purpose of the Committee is to make recommendations to the Minister of Labour (“Minister”) or the Registrar of Land Agents (Registrar) respecting the qualifications of applicants for licences, standards of conduct of land agents and any other matters requested by the Minister or the Registrar.

Membership

The Committee is comprised of the Registrar and between 8 to 12 members appointed by the Minister. At least four of the members are land agents and at least four members are landowners. One of the members is appointed by the Minister as the chair and the Registrar acts as the secretary of the Committee. The term served by a member of the Committee can not exceed three years and no member can be appointed for more than two consecutive terms.
