The Ministry of Labour has strategies in place to address pressures brought on by the province’s economy to ensure Alberta has a skilled workforce and thriving workplaces.
Through specialized programs, Alberta encourages the increased employment of Aboriginal people, youth and mature workers. The ministry tracks Labour Market Information to help employers, industry groups, workers and others understand workforce trends.
Professional Governance works closely with self-regulating professional associations to ensure that they are governed in the public interest so that Albertans can access quality professional services. It directly administers the Lands Agents Licensing Act.
